Kiosk Setup

Please use these instructions to setup your FanMaker kiosk on your iPad.

Make Your Safari Kiosk a Home Screen Icon

  1. Open Safari and enter the kiosk URL that your FanMaker representative provided to you via email.
  2. Find the Share Icon and select "Add to Home Screen."

  1. Title the icon whatever you'd prefer and tap "Add."
  2. To load the kiosk, use the icon you've added to the Home Screen. This has the added benefit of hiding the Safari bar at the top of the screen for a kiosk experience.

Turning on Camera Permissions

This is very important to allow for QR scanning from the kiosk.

  1. Go to Settings App.
  2. Tap on Safari.
  3. Tap on Camera.
  4. Set to "Allow."

Turning off Autofill Settings on Safari

This ensures the fields within the registration form are not autofilled within the kiosk.

  1. Go to Settings App.
  2. Tap on Safari.
  3. Tap on Autofill.
  4. Turn Off.

Activating Kiosk Mode for your iPad

Once you have entered the kiosk URL into Safari and entered your pin, please use the instructions below to lock the iPad in kiosk mode.

  1. Open the Settings App.
  2. Go to Accessibility, then Guided Access.
  3. Turn the Guided Access switch on.
  4. Enable a passcode.
  5. Change Display Auto-Lock to Never.

  1. Open the app you want to put in kiosk mode. This should be Safari.
  2. Press the Home button three times or the Side/Wake/Sleep button three times.
  3. Tap Start on the Guided Access bar at the top.
  4. To exit Guided access, press the Home button or the Side/Sleep/Wake button three times.
  5. Enter the passcode.
  6. Tap End at the top left to exit Guided Access.

Note

You may also want to go to the settings app, then Safari and turn off auto fill, as well.

Operating a Check-in/Out Kiosk

  1. Use the icon you've added to the Home Screen to load the kiosk.
  2. Use the instructions above to Activate Kiosk Mode using Guided Access.
  3. Enter the pin your FanMaker representative provided via email for entry.
  4. Select the Event you'd like users to scan for attendance, then click Confirm.
  5. The user will tap the QR code to bring up the camera, then will scan their ID from your app.
  6. If successful, they will see a "Successful Check In" message.
