Discounts
Overview
This document explains how to set up and manage discounts within the Point of Sale tab in the admin. It covers discount creation, grouping, and assigning discounts to program members.
Accessing Discounts
- Navigate to the Point of Sale tab in the admin.
- Select Discounts to view the list of discount groups and individual discounts.
Creating a Discount
- Select the Point of Sale System: Choose the correct system since many only support specific discount types.
- Discount Type: Example used is a "code" discount type, which is set up in the point-of-sale system and referenced by Fanmaker.
- Setup:
- Provide a Name for the discount (e.g., "10% Off").
- Enter the Point of Sale Code exactly as it appears in the system (numeric or text).
- Click Save to create the discount.
Creating Discount Groups
- Purpose: Grouping discounts (e.g., 10% off concessions, 20% off merchandise) allows for streamlined redemption for program members.
- Steps:
- Create a new discount group and assign a title (e.g., "Season Ticket Holders 2025").
- Add a description if needed.
- Select from the list of existing discounts to include in the group.
Assigning Discount Groups to Members
- Import Process:
- Select the import type "Discount Groups Users".
- The import file should contain:
- The member identifier (e.g., email address or member ID).
- The Discount Group ID (displayed on the left side of the discount groups).
- Monitor the import progress and confirm success or review errors if the import fails.
- Error Handling: If the import fails, verify the formatting and column names as per the instructions, then try again.
