Membership Levels
Membership levels (view here) are a great way to classify members of your program, similar to tags. An important difference is that members are able to see membership levels. These levels are visible to give members an incentive to earn their way to the next level or provide a sense of a badge of honor.
Note
Membership Levels can be reached two ways:
- Surpass a level point threshold to upgrade to the next level
- Assign a membership level via a FanMaker import
Note
All membership levels need to be set up by FanMaker. Please contact help@fanmaker.com or your FanMaker POC for help.
Best Practices
Think of membership levels like how other loyalty platforms you use like airline mileage programs or a restaurant partner encourages you to participate by "leveling up" your experience.
Use Membership Levels to give out special prize items or sweepstakes. For instance only allow your "premier level" members, maybe your highest membership level or two highest levels, to be able to redeem certain prizes or experiences. This can also be used if you assign a membership level, for instance if you do an import of your season ticket holders who pay a certain dollar amount the "premier" membership as an added benefit for their renewal.
You can also use membership levels to send specific emails and push notifications specifically to those groups of members.
Setting Up Membership Levels
When setting up membership levels for your program, you will need to provide FanMaker the following details.
- 1
- Names for each membership level.
- 2
- Color for each membership level.
- 3
- Answer to whether membership levels can be earned by earning more points or if membership levels are only able to be assigned to members.
Tip
Keep membership level names short so they appear correctly within the app.
When choosing colors for your membership levels, know that the font color of the name of each level will always be white. It is important to choose colors that will be able to read white over the top of it.
