Importing Attendance
This import type will allow you to upload people that attended an event. This will be helpful if there is some sort of technology error or if it is an event that may be using an external system than what is already integrated with FanMaker for your program.
The first column of your import is how we will look up the user.
The second column will be the event id. You’re able to find your event id by going to the attendance tab and looking at the dashboard The event id for each event is listed next to the event name within the dropdown in the upper right corner.
To log Attendance via import, create a CSV file that adheres to the following rules.
- The first column of your import is how we will look up the user. The first row should include a header with one of the following values, corresponding with the identifier you use.
- user_id
- account_id
- username
- member_id
- student_id
- customer_id
- pid
- oktaid
- phone_number - must be 11 digit format with country code, area code, and phone number. Example: 19522177561
The event_id column should be what you use to uniquely refer to this awarding of points. It must not be blank. You can see event IDs when editing events.
Points awarded will be equal to the Upload Points value for the event you are awarding attendance.
An example entry would look like this:
This will add an attendance record for the user at this event and grant the points associated with the upload_points setting on the event.
event_id | |
---|---|
test@fanmaker.com | 52 |
Note
This will check the member into an event at the time the event started to award their base points. This will not award early arrival points as it doesn’t track when the member arrived.
However, this goes in as a real data point for attendance (Ex. GPS, Scans, Beacons), so if there is scan data for this event, that may come in after the upload, it will not re-award the original points you uploaded, but if the scan data shows they did arrive early and you were awarding points for that, it will award the user those early arrival bonus points.
Note:
Please save your .csv files using the MS-DOS Comma Separated value option for best import results!
