This document outlines the key settings available under the Point of Sale menu > Settings. It covers funding banks, locations, SKU information, and redemption restriction groups.
Purpose: Used in double-entry accounting to classify and organize money inflows and outflows.
Example: A renewal budget or a surprise and delight budget.
Setup: Simply assign a label to the funding bank. It can then be selected during funding or spending transactions.
Display: Point of sale locations are populated from your transactions as they occur.
Editing: You can edit location names (often identified by an ID) for clarity.
Importing: Locations can also be imported if you prefer not to wait for them to populate.
Usage: Useful for applying restrictions on discounts or other loaded values.
Location Groups:
Create groups by providing a name and description, then add locations.
Example: Group club level locations or venues serving alcohol.
SKU Items:
Displays the SKU ID (the number from the point of sale system), category (if provided), and name.
You can edit these individually or import them via the SKU importer.
SKU Categories:
Categories provided by the point of sale system help group SKUs, useful for discounts and gift cards.
SKU Groups:
Manually created groups to organize SKUs when the built-in categories are not sufficient.
Example: Grouping alcohol SKUs together for restriction purposes.
Purpose: Combine multiple restrictions for more complex discount or funding rules.
Setup:
Provide a name and description for the group.
Add SKU restrictions:
Allow: Requires specific SKU(s), SKU categories, or SKU groups to be present in the cart.
Block: Prevents certain SKU(s) from being in the cart.
Add location restrictions:
Specify individual locations or location groups to allow or block usage.
Point of Sale Restriction: Restrict the group to a particular point of sale system.
Time Restrictions:
Create a start and end time (e.g., a discount valid for one hour before each game).
Alternatively, tie the restriction to an event (e.g., during a loyalty program event check-in window).
