New Event Punch Card

Create and configure new punch cards with events, rewards, and dates

Make a new punch card here in the admin

Event punch cards reward fans for showing up. Each qualifying event they attend earns a punch, and finishing the card earns a reward.

Where to find it

Events › Event Punch Cards: app.fanmaker.com/admin/engagement/punch_cards?kind=event

How to make a new event punch card

You aren't asked to pick a card family. Opening the form from Event Punch Cards sets that for you, and everything can be set up on this one page.

Step 1 — Open the form

Go to Events › Event Punch Cards and click New Event Punch Card.

Step 2 — Fill out the card

Work through the form, watching the live preview of the member-facing card as you go.

Details

  • Title — required, up to 120 characters.

  • Subtitle — required, up to 255 characters. This is the description members see.

  • Start date / End date — optional. The start date is when the card becomes available, and the end date is when it's hidden.

  • Punches needed — how many punches complete the card.

  • Events that qualify for a punch — search for events by name and add each one. At least one event is required.

Note: Titles are best kept short and sweet, with some information about the events needed to attend and the prize for completing the card (e.g. March Attendance = Free T-shirt!).

The description should be as descriptive as possible, so members know what they need to do to complete the punch card and what they will win (e.g. Attend 4 of 5 home basketball games during the month of March to win a free t-shirt!).

Tip: Use clear and time-bound messaging to create urgency (e.g. "Complete this weekend's punch card for bonus rewards!").

Appearance

  • Title image — a 340×108 transparent PNG that replaces the title text on the member-facing card. It must be a PNG.

  • Stamp image — a square PNG used for each punch.

  • Stamp icon, Punch fill colour and Punch mark colour — control how each punch looks.

Member Facing Instructions

An optional rich text box. What you write shows in the member app under "Member Facing Instructions".

Tip: Use the instructions to tell members exactly how a punch is earned, in plain language and short steps (e.g. "Scan your ticket at the gate at any home game in March. Each game you scan earns one punch. Collect all 5 to win a free t-shirt!"). Mention anything that could trip them up, like which games count or the date the card ends.

Completion reward

Pick the Reward type. A card gets exactly one reward, and you then fill in the field that appears:

  • Grant points — enter Points to grant.

  • Grant a prize — choose the prize.

  • Grant a sweepstakes entry — choose the sweepstakes.

  • Grant stored value(Requires POS Integration) — enter an amount and choose the source bank.

  • Assign a coupon(Requires POS Integration) — choose a coupon to draw codes from. The list shows how many codes are left.

Note: You can only configure one completion reward at a time. Choosing points and a prize on the same card will be rejected when you save.

Tip: When selecting a prize for members to win, make sure to set the prize up as an admin-only prize in the prize store, so it's not available for members to redeem without completing the punch card.

Tip: Offer a mix of points and prize items (e.g. gift cards, merch) for completed cards.

Audience & Visibility

  • Allowed membership levels — limit the card to certain levels.

  • Restrict to users on the allow list — only fans with the tag you enter can see the card.

  • Exclude users on the block list — fans with the tag you enter are kept out.

Step 3 — Create the card

Click Create Event Punch Card. You'll land back on the Event Punch Cards list.

After the card is live

  • Open it from View in the list to edit it or see Recent Entries.

  • You can't change the Type once fans have earned punches on the card.

  • Deleting a card from the list or its page removes it for fans.
