Import Discount Group Users

Discounts Groups Users adds members who already exist to a POS discount group, so its discounts become available to them, or removes them from a group. The action column on each row decides which.

Find it in the admin under Reports & Imports › Imports, at app.fanmaker.com/admin/settings/imports. Pick Discounts Groups Users from the What are you importing? picker, then click Download example CSV to start from a file with the right headers.

Note: This import only appears for programs running Fanmaker's point of sale features.

Import Rules

The first column

The first column of your file is how we find the member each row belongs to, and it has to come first. Use whichever one of these you already have:

• email: their email address

• username: their username

• user_id: Fanmaker's own id for the member

• member_id: your membership number for them

• student_id: student number, for education programs

• ticketmaster_id: their Ticketmaster account id

• cust_id: external customer ID

• pid: external customer ID

• oktaid: their Okta id, for sites using Okta SSO

• phone_number: their mobile number. We match on the last 10 digits, so 19522177561 and (952) 217-7561 both work.

Required columns

Two more columns are required, and they need to be in this order:

• discount_group_id: the Discount Group to add the member to, or remove them from. This is the second column.

• action: whether the row adds or removes the group. This is the third column and it is required. Use one of two values:

  • add: adds the discount group (by ID) to the member, so its discounts become available to them

  • remove: removes the discount group (by ID) from the member

Heads up: the action column only accepts add or remove. If it is missing or set to anything else, that row is rejected with a clear error. You will also get a clear error if you try to remove a group the member is not in, or add a group for someone who is not on the site.

Example Entry

A file with the headers email, discount_group_id, and action, and one row reading:

• email: [email protected]

• discount_group_id: 1234

• action: add

This makes the discounts in group 1234 available to [email protected]. Change action to remove on that row to take group 1234 away from them instead.

Note: This import adds or removes members on a group. It does not create the group or the discounts inside it, so set those up first, then load the members.
