Coupons

This document explains how to set up and manage Coupons within the Point of Sale tab in the admin. It covers coupon creation, adding individual coupon codes, bulk generating and importing codes.

Creating a Coupon

Click + Add Coupon to open the New Coupon form.

1. Name - Give the coupon a descriptive internal name (e.g., "STH26Concession").

2. Redemptions Per Code - Set the maximum number of times a single code can be redeemed. Set to 0 for unlimited.

3. Description - Add any internal notes about the coupon. Optional

4. Redemption Restrictions - Tie this coupon to a Redemption Restriction Group to limit where or how it can be used, for example restricting to specific sku’s, locations, events, or time windows.

Note: Redemption Restriction Groups are configured under Point of Sale > Settings

Tip: Coupon names can be a maximum of 20 characters.

Discount Type

Select the type of discount this coupon represents:

• Code - Use when the discount is programmed into the POS and referred to by Fanmaker. The POS handles the discount logic; Fanmaker passes the code through.

• Order - Applies a percentage or dollar amount off an entire order.

• SKU - Applies a percentage or amount off a particular SKU.

Under the Code section, add a Name and POS Code. The POS Code must exactly match what is configured in your point of sale system.

Adding Coupon Codes

There are three ways to add codes to a coupon:

1. Bulk Create - When creating or editing a coupon, check the Bulk Create box. Enter a Qty and the system will automatically generate that number of codes.

2. Import via CSV - Check the Import box to reveal a file upload field. Prepare a CSV with a single column named code, one coupon code per row, and upload the file.

3. Add a Single Coupon Code - From the Coupons dashboard, click + Add Coupon Code. Enter a scan code manually or click Generate to auto-generate one. Optionally apply Redemption Restrictions to this code. A code can be created independently and assigned to a coupon later to activate it.

Note: The CSV must contain a single column named code. Save the file in MS-DOS Comma Separated format for best results.

Tip: All coupon codes must be unique. All codes should be limited to a Maximum of 15 characters to avoid import issues.

Using Coupons as a Digital Code Prize

Coupons can be used as a Digital Code Delivered prize. When setting up a prize item, select the Digital Code delivery method and upload the exact same csv file that was used to create your coupon codes. Individual coupon codes will then be automatically delivered to members upon redemption, making it easy to reward fans with unique, single-use POS discount codes.
