# Point Scoring

Configure rules to award members points for purchases made through your POS Integration

[**Point Scoring**](https://app.fanmaker.com/admin/point_of_sale/point_scoring) determines how many points members earn for transactions recorded by your **POS integration**. Rules are set up here and apply automatically when a qualifying purchase occurs.

Navigate to the **Point of Sale** tab in the admin and select [**Point Scoring**](https://app.fanmaker.com/admin/point_of_sale/point_scoring) from the left-hand menu. The dashboard displays all existing rules, showing the **Source** (POS system), **Type,** **Points**, **Targeted Item** (if applicable), **Schedule,** and **Last Modified** date.

## Rule Types

### Per Dollar

Members earn the specified number of points for each dollar they spend. This is the standard **spend-to-earn** rule.

-   **POS** - Select the point of sale source this rule applies to. This determines which transactions the rule will score.
    
-   **Points** - The number of points earned per dollar spent.
    

### Per SKU (Targeted Item Bonus)

Members earn a **bonus point value** for purchasing a specific **SKU**, in addition to any points awarded by other active rules.

-   **POS** - Select the point of sale source.
    
-   **Points** - The bonus points awarded for the targeted item purchase.
    
-   **Targeted Item** - Enter the SKU to which this rule applies.
    
-   **Start/End Dates**(Optional)
    
-   **Activity Message** - Shown in the member's activity stream — handy for marketed promos. Leave blank for the default (“Made a Purchase of a special item”).
    

### First Purchase Bonus

Members earn a **one-time flat point bonus** on their first POS purchase from a specified source.

-   **POS** - Select the point of sale source. The bonus will only apply to a member's **first purchase** from this source.
    
-   **Points** - The flat number of points awarded for the first purchase.
    
-   **Activity Message** - The message shown in the member's **activity stream** when the bonus is awarded (e.g. "First loyalty purchase at concessions"). If left blank, a default message will be used.
    

### **CC Bonus (All Sources)**

Members earn bonus points on credit-card purchases, in addition to points from other active rules. It isn't tied to one POS, so there's no POS to select. _Points_ — the bonus points awarded.

### **Fidel — Per Dollar**

Members earn the specified number of points for each dollar spent with a linked card through Card Linking. _POS_ — select the source. _Points_ — the number of points earned per dollar spent.
