Find here under Imports → select Custom Lottery Rank. This import type will upload lottery winner rankings for your members. It is used to record which users won a given lottery and what rank (position) they achieved. This can be used for both individual and group lottery entries.
To import Custom Lottery Ranks, create a CSV file that adheres to the following rules.
The first column of your import is how we will look up the user. The first row should include a header with one of the following values, corresponding with the identifier you use.
user_id
account_id
username
member_id
student_id
customer_id
pid
oktaid
phone_number — must be 11 digit format with country code, area code, and phone number. Example: 19522177561
stripe_cid
The group_id column handles whether the entry is for an individual user or a group. For individual entries, leave this column empty (but the column header must still be present). For group entries, enter the group identifier. When a group_id is provided, all members of that group will be recorded as winners for that lottery at the given rank.
The lottery_id column contains the identifier of the lottery the user won. Every row must include a lottery_id value. This should correspond to the ID of the lottery as it exists in your FanMaker system.
The rank column contains the numeric rank (position) of the winner. You must include all ranks in your CSV — not just the top winners.
An example entry would look like this:
user_id | group_id | lottery_id | rank |
123 | 1 | 789 | 1 |
124 | 1 | 789 | 2 |
125 | 789 | 3 |
In this example, users 123 and 124 are part of group 1 and placed 1st and 2nd respectively in lottery 789. User 125 is an individual entry (no group) and placed 3rd in the same lottery.
1. Navigate to Settings > Imports in the left sidebar.
2. In the Import Type dropdown, select Custom Lottery Rank.
3. Click Choose File and select the CSV file you prepared.
4. Click the green Upload File button to submit the import.
5. Scroll down to the Existing Imports table to monitor the progress and results of your import.
User identifiers not matching — Verify that the identifiers in your CSV (e.g., user_id, email, member_id) exactly match existing users in your FanMaker system. Unmatched rows will be skipped.
Phone numbers not matching — Phone numbers must be in the exact 11-digit format with no dashes, spaces, or parentheses. Example: 19522177561
Group entries not working — Make sure the group_id corresponds to an actual group in your system. For individual entries, leave the group_id cell empty — do not enter "0" or "none."
Missing ranks after import — The system requires you to include all ranks in the file, not just the top winners. Re-upload a complete file containing every participant and their rank.
Wrong import type selected — Always double-check that the Import Type dropdown reads "Custom Lottery Rank" before clicking Upload File. Uploading under the wrong type will produce unexpected results.
