Referrals

Referrals let members invite friends to join your program. The member earns points when their friend joins, and you can reward the new member too.

How It Works

1. A member invites a friend from the Refer a Friend card in the app.

2. The friend receives a Referral Invitation email with a link to join.

3. When the friend joins and verifies their account, the member earns their referral points. The friend earns points too, if set.

Invitations are only sent to people who aren't already members.

Turning on Referrals

1. In Referrals, switch the section to Active.

2. Enter Points for the referrer.

3. Enter Points for the friend who joins. Leave at 0 to reward only the referrer.

4. Click Save Referrals.

Note: No invitations are sent and no points are awarded until Referrals is switched on.

Referral Invitation Email

Edit the invitation under Communications › Notification Rules › Referral Invitation. See Member Notifications.

Keep the {{recipient.invite_url}} variable in the message. It's the friend's personal join link and is how the referral is credited.

Tip: To promote referrals, move the Refer a Friend card higher in your Action Stream. See Streams.
