Domain Setup

When choosing a web domain for your Fanmaker site, there are 4 options:

Option 1: New Domain Name Setup By Fanmaker

Fanmaker will take care of everything, just tell us what domain you want.

Note: This is the most common scenario.

Option 2: Use Your Domain with our Fast DNS Servers

You will need to edit your domain's DNS servers to point to Fanmaker's DNS. Notify us of your domain name so we can make the initial setup, and then we'll send you the 2 DNS servers to replace yours with, along with instructions for your domain host (GoDaddy, Hover and so on).

Option 3: Use Your Existing Domain Name

You will need to edit your domain's DNS records to point to Fanmaker servers. Please remove any root A record and then create the following:

• a cname record for @ pointed to host.fanmaker.com

• a cname record for www pointed at @

Note: If your DNS provider doesn't support a root cname record and requires an IP address instead, you have 2 options. You can move to a modern DNS provider like Cloudflare (free), or you can go with Option 2 — Use Your Domain with our Fast DNS Servers.

Option 4: Use a Subdomain on your Existing Domain

You will need to edit your domain's DNS records to point the subdomain at Fanmaker servers. For example, if your desired address is rewards.yourdomain.com, please create the following:

• a cname record for "rewards" pointed to host.fanmaker.com

Note: Your program's main address is shown in the URL field under Settings › General in the admin. Domain and DNS changes themselves are handled by your Fanmaker contact — email [email protected] to get started.
