Membership levels are a great way to classify members of your program, similar to tags. The important difference is that members are able to see their membership level. Levels give members an incentive to earn their way to the next one, or a sense of a badge of honor.
You'll find them under Settings › Memberships & Billing › Membership Levels.
Each level on the page shows its Name, Color, Min Points, how many Members currently hold it, and any Linked Subscription Plans. Click See Users on a level to jump to the Members list filtered to just those members.
1. They pass the level's minimum point threshold and are upgraded automatically.
2. You assign it. There are three ways to do that:
Via a Fanmaker import
On the member's own profile, under the Manage tab → Assign A Level (pick the level, set how many days it lasts, and give a reason)
By having a promo code grant the level on redemption — see Point Earning › Promo Codes
Think of membership levels like the loyalty programs you already use — airline mileage tiers, or a restaurant that encourages you to participate by "leveling up" your experience.
Use levels to gate special prize items or sweepstakes. Let only your "premier level" members — your highest level, or your top two — redeem certain prizes or experiences. This works well alongside assignment, too: import your season ticket holders who pay a certain amount and give them the premier level as an added benefit for renewing.
You can also use membership levels to send specific emails and push notifications to those groups of members.
When you ask Fanmaker to set up your levels, send us:
1. A name for each level.
2. A color for each level.
3. A description for each level, if you'd like one — this is public and shown to members.
4. Whether levels can be earned by earning more points, or whether they can only be assigned to members.
