Promo Image

The artwork fans see on the desktop login and registration screens comes from the Desktop Welcome section of Design & Content › Design.

The three pieces

Welcome Logo — the image that sits in front, usually your mark or wordmark. Required.

Desktop Background — the photograph or artwork behind it. Required, and it needs to be large: at least 2000 × 1600, since it stretches across a full desktop window.

Welcome Headline — the line of text over the top, up to 200 characters. This replaces the separate promo text lines the old admin used.

Getting it right

Tip: if your background image already contains words, leave the Welcome Headline blank. Two sets of text competing in the same space is the most common thing that makes this screen look wrong.

Keep the important part of the background away from the centre — the logo and headline sit over it, and on narrower windows the image crops inward from the edges.
